CHASE is the Cambridge Hi-Tech Association of Small Enterprises and we'd love it if you could pop along and listen to different Content Management Systems being explained and demonstrated.

Wintercorn are now V.A.T. registered
Tuesday, 31 March 2009 09:10

The V.A.T. man cometh and drinketh our moniesDoes this actually count as news? Anyway, after what seems like months, we now have our V.A.T. registration number. This means when you commission a project with us, we form an unholy trinity with the VATman and we have to add 15% to our invoices.

You can claim this back of course by getting registered yourself if you are not already, but this just seems to encourage them.

The bottle of whisky is for no other purpose than to illustrate this news item. We don't send any alchohol with our invoices, although it's worth asking.

Anyway, the magic number is 947 4057 03 and it's also here.

Chapel Break Tardis website launched!!
Thursday, 26 March 2009 12:50

cbreaksml.jpg The brilliant Chapel Break Tardis website is online. Working with a group of children from Chapel Break School in Bowthorpe we put together this Joomla! 1.5 site.

It's pretty nifty showing a gallery of the childrens work, a comments space and the extra special Ideas Machine popping out random questions and food for thought.

Visit the site at www.chapelbreaktardis.co.uk

Wintercorn office closed 13th of March
Tuesday, 10 March 2009 13:43

The Wintercorn office will be closed on Friday the 13th of March. Not for superstitious reasons, but we are going to the JoomlaDay event in Kent.

Telephones will be diverted to voicemail, but we'll be checking email and voicemails regularly. If you have any urgent requests, please use hello at wintercorn.com and we'll reply just as soon as we can.

Free hosting for the life of your website.
Friday, 27 February 2009 14:09

WOWWe've made a momentus decision. As from March 2009, all new website projects will get their web hosting included in the project price. There's no extra charge and no fees.

It's down to administration and customer service actually.

We meet clients who have been quoted a reasonable price for their project and then get hit with ongoing hosting charges. We think that's unfair.

We also have to deal with the admin work of regularly renewing hosting accounts for relatively small amounts of money when we could be designing lovely websites. We think that's unfair as well.

Law regarding email signatures
Monday, 15 September 2008 08:39

Email SignatureOver the past few weeks Wintercorn has received calls from clients and concerned business people regarding a new law requiring businesses to have full legal contact details on their business letters, including, it would seem, emails.

The law has actually been around since January 2007 and is called Statutory Instrument 2006 No. 3429, but seems to be little known outside of legal circles. There's not much publicity on the web about it and no-one seems to have been prosecuted under it yet.

New office at last!
Written by Marcus
Monday, 14 July 2008 00:00

Removals VanWell, we've finally moved into our new offices in central Norwich.

Within sight of both the castle and cathedral , we have a little oasis of calm in which to devote ourselves to our clients and the pursuit of Joomla! excellence.

The spanking new IP 'phone system is in as well which means we can work from the office, home or clients. In fact anywhere with a broadband connection with no extra cost to you, dear reader.

Our website is going to be revamped very soon and we have a few interesting projects lined up for launch over the coming months, so watch this space!
